Ritual Kitchen Recipe: The Welcome Home Vanilla Chai Loaf Spell

By: Laura May

This vanilla chai loaf is infused with warm, cosy spices, creating a welcoming atmosphere for a home or a space in need of comfort. Baking with intention, especially when working towards creating a happy home, can help manifest peace and prosperity. It’s the reason I found my narrowboat home, and I bake it once a year to keep my space sacred and filled with joy. As you prepare this cake, focus on your wishes for your home, symbolising a safe, nurturing environment for all who dwell within it.

Moon Phase: New Moon - sets intentions for new beginnings.

Day of the Week: Thursday - for expansion and blessings.

Candle Colour: Brown - connected to home, stability, and grounding.

  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg

Before you start, take the tbsp of cinnamon in your palm and blow it through the open threshold of your home for protection. Preheat your oven to 180°C / 350°F. Grease and line a 9-inch x 5-inch x 3-inch loaf. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and spices. Carefully place a small, heatproof key (cleaned and wrapped in parchment paper into the batter before pouring it into the loaf tin. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Be mindful not to bite the key - repeat the following when you find and unwrap it;

A key inside, has now appeared.

Once finished and key found place the key and quartz somewhere prominent in your home that you will see everyday to serve as a reminder of your intentions.
