Tap In: A Conversation with Psychic Medium Christina Curran
From spirit guides to summer séances, Christina’s stories gave us goosebumps!

Summer has a way of calling us back into the natural world.
We trade fluorescent lights for sunsets, office walls for scenic hikes and crowded schedules for slow evenings spent beneath open skies. Somewhere along the way, our curiosity expands beyond what can be measured, leaving room for intuition and the unexplained.
It felt like the perfect season to sit down with Psychic Medium and Reiki Master Christina Curran to explore the spiritual world through a grounded lens. Together, we discuss intuition, past-life regression, spirit guides, guardian angels and hosting a summer séance with intention. If there's one answer that stayed with us long after the conversation ended, it's her remarkable story about the moment she believes a guardian angel saved her life.
With that in mind, we invited medium Christina to share the experiences that shaped her practice. She revisits her own spiritual evolution before unpacking the recurring themes that surface during past-life regressions. Her account of intuition stepping in at exactly the right moment is one you'll be thinking about long after you've finished reading. If you're feeling inspired, she also offers a gentle introduction to hosting a summer séance with intention.
1. Before we dive into your spiritual work, can you take us back to your life before mediumship? What did those chapters look like, and when did you first realize something was beginning to change? Did the shift unfold gradually or arrive all of a sudden?
Going backwards to my childhood, I can remember having strange experiences as a kid that none of the adults around me could explain. I was definitely that creepy kid that loved Unsolved Mysteries and everything that went bump in the night. Which was stressful for my VERY strict Southern Baptist parents who believed in none of those things.
In hindsight, I believe my Mother is also a Medium. For as long as I can remember, Mom could ‘see death’. She always knew when someone was about to die: either she’d have a dream about it, or she’d have a waking vision of that person. Shortly after, they’d pass away.
My mediumship manifested differently than my Mom. I remember having lots of lucid astral projection experiences as a kid. One minute I’d be playing with toys on the floor, the next I was watching my body play with toys on the floor as I watched hovering from the ceiling…
During a surgery I had as a teen, one minute I’m talking to the anesthesiologist, the next, I’m hovering on the ceiling. I couldn’t ever control it as a kid, but it happened a lot. It wasn’t until I got into my teen years that it really exploded. Things happened overnight once I hit 16. In my teens, I started seeing apparitions in our house, seeing faces when I’d go to sleep at night, or I’d hear voices in the house.

2. You’ve invested extensively in your development, earning certifications across several spiritual and healing modalities including Reiki. What did your path look like, moving from an interest in spirituality to recognizing your abilities and then practicing mediumship professionally?
I worked in the healthcare/ophthalmology field prior to doing this work professionally. I feel like my experience in medicine really helped ground me as a person long before I ever started dipping my toes into spirituality. In working with patients, I was able to see first hand that miracles outside of medicine happen all the time: things we can’t explain with books.
I finally got the courage to find a psychic teacher: someone who could help guide me more on my journey. Once I met my teacher, she said, “You know you have a gift? One that many people work and practice for years to attain. Don’t throw it away.”
Six months later, I started doing practice readings in mediumship circles, and found I was really good! People’s spirit guides would just walk up and start telling me things, which I would relay during my practice sessions. About six months after beginning in my practice circles, Reiki found me… During this time, I worked my corporate job full time, then I started seeing clients for readings or Reiki sessions at night. I did my spiritual practice part time for several years until I finally quit my job in 2020 and started my business full time.
3. After years spent guiding hundreds of past-life regressions, you’ve shared that you've noticed that certain answers emerge again and again. Can you share a little about those common threads?
In Past Life Regression Hypnosis, I've noticed a strange phenomenon that occurs in these sessions: thousands of clients who don’t know each other all start to say the same thing under hypnosis.
For clients who are depressed and are lonely, I hear, “We are never alone. We may have a physical illusion that we are alone on Earth, but no one is spiritually EVER alone.” Spirits reiterate often that we’re never truly alone, we have a host of spiritual support around us in every moment.
For clients who may be living a difficult lifetime currently, I hear often, “Remember that you’re in a play of your life. Your avatar chose to play that character on Earth, and everyone else in your life is best supporting actors/actresses in the play of your life. At the end of your life, you will clap for all the characters that participated: those that played ‘the good guys’ and those that played ‘the bad guys’.”
For those dealing with grief: “Death isn’t the end. Think of your life on Earth as living all together in one big house. When someone dies, it’s like getting up from the couch in the den and walking into the kitchen. You’re all still in the same house, you’re just in different rooms.”
For those anxious about death, I hear, “Death is like working in the garden all day. You get hot and sweaty, your clothes feel gross.. All you want to do is peel those sweaty clothes off and take a hot shower. Death is taking off the sweaty clothes and having a shower after a hot day in the garden.”
4. For someone unfamiliar with past-life regression, can you walk us through what happens during a session and how you guide someone through the experience? What does preparation look like for you?
During a past life regression, I began by asking my clients to get comfy on their end: reclining or laying down for the session helps people to feel safe in their space and let go a bit easier. I begin by guiding clients into a deeply relaxed meditative state, gently moving from the alert alpha brainwave state into the slower theta state: the Leven of our consciousness associated with falling asleep and dreaming.
My client essentially listens to my voice as I guide them into a relaxed state. From this relaxed state, I can help my clients walk into a Past Life their Higher Self most wishes for them to see at that time.
What’s interesting about Past Life Hypnosis is your Higher Self, the most elevated version of you that exists in Spirit, will choose what you see in those experiences. It often ties back to themes you’re currently experiencing at this time in your current lifetime.
For me, I like to prep for these sessions with deep meditation prior and pulling Tarot. I usually do a Tarot Spread prior to all my hypnosis sessions to see where my client is about to go, what themes will be covered/lessons to be learned.
5. We love how you invite your online community to share their own encounters with intuition. Is there one story that is particularly memorable to your where a bad feeling or inexplicable nudge appears to have saved someone from serious harm?
My clients have definitely relayed stories over the years; “If I hadn’t listened to you about not staying with my former partner, they absolutely would have ended my life, and you had no knowledge of abuse.” I’ve had experiences like that with clients.
Personally for myself, my biggest psychic nudges have more so helped prepare my heart for big or devastating events. For example: I usually dream before someone dies that they’re saying goodbye to me or I have ‘Psychic Word Vomit’. For example, the night before my Grandfather died unexpectedly from a heart procedure, I’d just spoken with him on the phone and hung up. I had no idea that would be the last time I ever spoke with him. As I hugged my husband, I blurted out, “I hope he doesn’t have a stroke in recovery tomorrow, I’m worried.” That’s exactly what happened the next day, my sweet Grandfather had surgery, then a massive stroke in recovery and never woke up again.
6. Has intuition ever intervened in your own life in that way? In your understanding, what is a guardian angel and how might someone recognize their guidance?
YES. I was almost abducted from a grocery store parking lot in my 20’s. This was long before I knew I was a medium. I remember hearing a voice tell me as I walked into the store, “Stay aware of your surroundings because you’re being watched.”
Sure enough, I caught sight of a man following me through the store. We checked out at the same time and he began following me out. I heard the voice again say, “This man is going to try and take you. Hold on to your bags with your life and scream.” Within seconds, this man attacked me from behind and started trying to take my keys out of my hand. I realized he was going to abduct me using my own car in that moment. I had a quick flash in my head of an Oprah episode where she was telling her viewers, “Never go to the second location. Make whatever you’re holding a hindrance.” I was holding bags of soy sauce bottles which I began using as weapons. I started swinging the bags at this man and screaming, “HELP. I DO NOT KNOW THIS MAN.”
The man could never get my keys from me because they were so intertwined with the plastic bags. Eventually, an elderly man came to my rescue as the rest of the parking lot stared at me. My attacker fled and was never caught.
I believe my Guardian Angel saved me that day. A Guardian Angel is a protective being that is assigned to us at birth. Their sole job is to keep us safe throughout our life. In my experience, our Guardian Angel is ‘that still small voice’ that we hear right before something dangerous happens. “Don’t take that way to work, go this way instead.” “Pay attention to this person, they aren’t safe and you’re not imagining it.”
So often we explain away that still, small voice: but if we pay attention, it’s never wrong.
7. Mediumship keeps you close to relationships that continue after death. How has this work shaped your understanding of devotion?
Going into this work, I was pretty jaded from my past experiences in the Christian Church. I was pretty guarded in the beginning about what I might find out.
I came to realize that it’s truly what Einstein said, “Energy never dies, it just changes form.” When our body dies, the love between us and our loved ones never dies. Love is the most powerful energy that exists. Our loved ones in Spirit have a huge message that comes out consistently across readings: “Live your life, then come and tell us all about it. No judgement, just go and learn.”
For me, what greater devotion is there than to know that even when my body dies, the love that exists for my loved ones will be the guiding light that stays connected with them in the physical world long after I’m gone.
8. For readers feeling called to host a summer séance at home, what should they understand before attempting to connect with the spirit world? Do you have any tips to share?
Intention is everything! Most people associate seances with Ouija boards and ‘having a fun scare’… the Universe will always oblige us in our intentions. If we want to be scared, the Universe will serve that up on a platter for us!
Go into your seances and spirit sessions with the intention, “We wish to connect with messengers of The Divine. We wish to receive only messages of love, truth and healing.”
Be respectful in the questions you ask during the session.
Always remember that we, the users of any divination method, are the ones that give it power.
Discern through the messages you receive.
If the messages aren’t loving and aren’t truthful, discard and repeat your intentions. Don’t give your power away unnecessarily.
9. What has your spiritual journey taught you so far that you never expected to learn?
Love never dies: Our loved ones in Spirit stay with us until it’s our time to come back Home to Spirit.
Magic exists, and if you pay attention and put your phone down once in a while, you’ll see magic in your life.
There is no scary God waiting on a throne to judge your life. WE judge ourselves. The only directive from God that’s given to us before we are born is, “Go, live your life, learn lessons, and come back to tell us all about what you learned.” That’s it.
10. As your practice continues to evolve, what are you most looking forward to in the chapters ahead?
The older I get, the more I’m seeing a Matriarchy of spiritual people beginning to rise.
I’m also seeing men start to frequent my practice. Men that are truly interested in healing toxic masculinity. When I first started my business, I hardly ever had male clients.
I look forward to this Matriarchy rising and helping toxic masculinity finally take a back seat to healing.
